NEW MEXICO JURISDICTION CAMPUS MINISTRY

The purpose of a campus ministry is to network and connect with youth from diverse backgrounds. The ministry should provide an atmosphere that will attract the interest of youth throughout the college campus and community. The fellowship provided through the campus ministry should be geared toward educating youth about themselves, their education, and their future in hoping to acquire an understanding that will lead them to accept and build their relationship not only with their piers but also their spiritual connection with Jesus Christ.

The Campus leaders

Campus leaders must be able to relate and communicate with all of today’s youth. These leaders must be able to gather, disseminate, and disperse information effectively. The campus leaders must look into the scholastic programs offered by the University for the Educational Enrichment and benefit toward the students of the campus. Campus ministries leaders must be able to arrange and attend meetings, participate in conference calls, and invest into educational and spiritual grow of youth.

Functions

Are as follows but not limited to: Help build more involvement with other youth groups and with the surrounding community.

Encouraging and instructing youth how to set reachable and successful goals.
Must be able to indentify and establish rapport with various church organizations and affiliations within the local community.
Provide workshops, seminars, and open group cross training for the youth.
Networking through technology, the campus leaders must be able to network, connect and be diverse in conjunction with other campus ministries. For example, sources such as: Tex Message, E-Mail, face book, Gmail, Twitter, etc.
Plan Retreats, Picnics and collaborate with various youth groups concerning youth rallies.
Provide questions and answering sessions, along with open discussions.
Will provide mentoring for the youth.
Create monthly News Letter, along with Video Coverage on all events, & youth activity.
